Helpful links to register for Washington payroll accounts
Washington Employment Security Department (Unemployment)
- Washington has one application for all payroll tax accounts that will need to be filled out. Once this application is completed, you will receive separate ID and notices from all the different agencies.
- Go to https://dor.wa.gov/open-business/apply-business-license
- If you have questions completing your business license registration, please reach out to Washington directly at 360-705-6741
- Once Washington has completed this application, you will start receiving the different account ID from each agency. For Unemployment specifically, Fuse will need:
- UBI: your Unified Business ID. Your UBI will be the same accross all Washington accounts
- your account ID with Employment Security
- your unemployment rate
- Please forward all of the above items to support@fuseworkforce.com
Washington Department of Labor & Industries (Worker's Comp)
- Washington has one application for all payroll tax accounts that will need to be filled out. Once this application is completed, you will receive separate ID and notices from all the different agencies.
- Go to https://dor.wa.gov/open-business/apply-business-license
- If you have questions completing your business license registration, please reach out to Washington directly at 360-705-6741
- Once Washington has completed this application, you will start receiving the different account ID from each agency. For Labor & Industries specifically, Fuse will need:
- your Unified Business ID (UBI). Your UBI will be the same accross all Washington accounts
- your account ID with Labor & Industries
- your worker's compensation codes used and their rates
- your Participant Access Code (PAC ID). Your PAC ID will also show up on your rate notice once received.

Washington Paid Family Leave & Long Term Care
- Washington Paid Family Leave and Long Term Care are taxes that will be automatically assigned when fill out the above information.
- Both of these tax codes will use the same UBI numbers listed above as you account ID
- Both of these tax codes have rates set by the agency for all companies each year
- As long as you complete the steps listed above for unemployment and worker's comp, you should not need to complete additional steps for Paid Family Leave or Long Term Care
