The manager cannot log into Manager Mode on InTouch

Manager receives error "Valid for Home Employees Only NGT 06-1", on the InTouch Timeclock when accessing Manager Mode

Root Causes

  1. The Manager is not a home employee to this terminal so is not in the account filter for the clock.

  2. The Manager's Badge Number has a leading zero or there is an end date for an effective dated badge.

  3. The Manager does not have permissions set to Manager in Employee profile under Hardware Settings - InTouch.

  4. The clock is set to verify biometrics for everyone and the manager does not have a finger print enrolled.

The Manager is not a home employee to this terminal so is not in the account filter for the clock.

  1. Log into Fuse as an administrator.
  2. Navigate to 3 lines icon (hamburger menu) >  Gear icon - System - InTouch Installations.
  3. Click on edit middleware icon (monitor with gear) next to the clock you want to edit.
  4. Click Terminal.
  5. If there is a filter and it does not say all accounts, Click Magnifying glass to continue adding manager to filter.  If it says all accounts then there different issue..
  6. Click to highlight the bottom element in blue.
  7. Click OR.
  8. Click the flag next to how you want to add the manager to the filter: Select Company Groups if you want to use the Group of managers, or you can filter by Default Cost Center, Default EIN, or Specific Account if you want to add just the specific manager..
  9. Click the paper with magnifying glass icon next to the Group or profile just added (Account Groups if you added the Company Groups above). 
  10. Click the flag next to the group or profile that you want to use.
  11. Click save in the upper right hand corner.
  12. Click Back.
  13. Click the ellipsis (...) then resend employees.
  14. Wait an hour then click the View employees (gear to the right of use filters). It should say get_all_emps success. The updated filter will have been applied to the clock and those employees included in the account filter should be able to punch.

The Manager's Badge Number has a leading zero or there is an end date for an effective dated badge.

1. Remove the leading zero(s) from the Badge ID field in the manager's employee information screen. 

The Manager does not have permissions set to Manager in Employee profile under Hardware Settings - InTouch.

  1. Log in as an administrator.
  2. Navigate to 3 lines icon (hamburger menu) > Gear icon > 2 people icon > My Team > Employee Information.
  3. Enter the appropriate information to search for the manager by employee id, badge or name and press enter.
  4. Click on the paper with person (employee information) next to the manager.
  5. Scroll down to the badge sections or click the blue badge on the left column.
  6. Remove leading zero if there is one.
  7. Check expiration date if using effective dated badge and change to date in the future if expired.
  8. Scroll down to the hardware settings section.
  9. Change the Security Level to Manager if it is not.
  10. Click Save in the upper right hand corner.
  11. Either wait for the next schedule clock full update or proceed below to update the clock manually.

    2. Click on  edit middleware icon (monitor with gear) next to the clock you want to edit.
    3. Click ellipsis (...) then resend employees.
    4. Wait an hour then click the View employees (gear to the right of use filters) it should say get_all_emps success. The updated filter will have been applied to the clock and those employees included in the account filter should be able to punch.

The clock is set to verify biometrics for everyone, and the manager does not have a fingerprint enrolled.


  1. Log in as an administrator.

  3. Click on edit middleware icon (monitor with gear) next to the clock you want to edit.
  4. Click Terminal.
  5. Under Biometrics, Verify Biometrics For: change the Everyone to Enrolled Employees only.  
  6. Click Save in the upper right hand corner.
  7. Either wait for the next schedule clock full update or proceed below to update the clock manually.
