How to properly correct forms 1095-C to be resubmitted to the IRS. This may need to be done to address IRS errors in response to your original filing or to amend a form(s) for any issue you have identified.
To update any Form 1095-C that needs to be corrected and resubmitted to the IRS, you must complete the following steps.
- Update Incorrect Data in Employee Records, if applicable.
- Recalculate the ACA Timeline for all applicable employees.
- Navigate to: Team > HR > ACA > Employee ACA Actions
- Select the applicable employees
- click the Recalculate button and choose the year to Recalculate From.
- click Recalculate
- Recalculate the ACA Timeline for all applicable employees.
- Unfinalize the applicable Forms 1095-C
- Navigate to: Team > HR > ACA > Forms > Employee Forms 1095-C
- Select the applicable Forms 1095-C
- click the Unfinalize button (under the ellipses menu to the right of the Populate button)
- click OK to confirm this action
- Update the incorrect data in the Applicable Forms 1095-C
- If you Recalculated the ACA Timeline for any employees, you can Populate the corrected data.
- Select the applicable Forms 1095-C
- click the Populate button
- click OK to confirm this action
- Mark the forms as Corrected
- Select the same applicable Forms 1095-C again.
- click the Edit button (under the ellipses menu to the right of the Populate button)
- click Yes to confirm this action
- select the Corrected box at the top of the Mass Edit form
- click the Apply Changes button
- click the Back arrow button next to the words Mass Edit in the top left corner
- If you Recalculated the ACA Timeline for any employees, you can Populate the corrected data.

- If you need to update data that is specific to one employee/form, you can Edit the individual form.
- Click the View Form 1095-C button (pencil icon)
- Update the necessary field(s) in the form
- select the Corrected box at the top of the form
- click Save
- Note: you have the option to click the Finalize Form button before exiting the individual form you are working on
- if you do not Finalize the form now, you will be able to do so for all forms at once on the prior screen
- click the Back arrow button next to the words 1095-C in the top left corner
- If you need to update the same data point for multiple forms, you can use the Mass Edit tool.
- Select the applicable Forms 1095-C
- click the Edit button (under the ellipses menu to the right of the Populate button)
- click Yes to confirm this action
- update the data point that will be applied to all selected forms, i.e., Box 10, Contact telephone number
- select the Corrected box at the top of the Mass Edit form
- click the Apply Changes button
- click the Back arrow button next to the words Mass Edit in the top left corner
- If you need to update data that is specific to one employee/form, you can Edit the individual form.
- Re-Finalize the forms 1095-C that you made corrections to
- Select the applicable Forms 1095-C
- click the Finalize button (under the ellipses menu to the right of the Populate button)
- click OK to confirm this action
- A new form 1094-C needs to be created and finalized to be included with the submission of any Corrected forms 1095-C.
